KiiTAG 2 Digital Swiss Army Knife Review For Your Smartphones

The KiiTAG 2 is a car-key-sized small device that includes a charger capable of giving most phones an extra two hours of use. If it were just that, it would be OK, but it includes a list of features that are incredibly useful.

It’s also a flash drive, so you can grab some documents to take home or to work, a flashlight so you can see what you’re doing when you’re breaking into some office in the middle of the night to steal a file and place it on the flash drive, three multi-touch buttons which in conjunction with your smartphone do different things, and a built-in USB/micro USB/Lightning cable to charge in both directions.

I got a chance to see it in action at CES, and it’s something I think is just one of the most useful combos to be proposed for the market.

The buttons on the device work with an app, they’ve suggested using them for fake phone calls, a phone finder, remote camera shutter, remote phone answering, an automatic message, voice recording, and play sound effects. My guess is you’ll have more options than that when the thing hits the market though.
The device I had in hand at CES was about the same size as my old VW keymote if I remember correctly, so it’s got a good size going on to pocket it and forget.

The $20,000 Kickstarter goal was reached a lot sooner than they anticipated with 803 backers chipping in $48,358 of the goal so far so this is more of something to watch than something you need to dive head first into, unless of course that’s your thing.

The estimated delivery date is May of this year, and after that we hopefully will have a hands on review of the product and accompanying apps.
